Kim Coultis organized the Home Grown Art Show. She said more artists and
admirers attend the event each year. “There are more new artists, more
spectators and people are staying longer,” she said. She added that
running out of wine early in the evening was a sure sign that people
enjoyed themselves at the art show.“ This is a great opportunity for
local artists because it provides a first venue,” she said. “Maybe after
this people will go on to do a solo show.” Assistant organizer Vickie
Walmsley said young and old showcased their artwork at the event.
“This is the most young artists we’ve ever had,” she said. “We’re hoping for more junior artists next year. Established Banff artist Mike Cameron said the Home Grown Art Show seems to get bigger each year.
